Guided relaxations on
CD ‘Serenity and Harmony’

In a typical Hatha yoga class, guided relaxations lead the body into a state of deep relaxation and help to calm the mind. In the west this relaxation technique is often called Yoga Nidra - the yoga of sleep – but without falling asleep ! It enables us to attain a state of deep relaxation by sending messages to each part of the body. The listener is guided towards a state of well-being and fulfilment, and is invited to relax each part of the body in turn. It can help to find a sense of harmony and perfect balance within. The aim is to remain awake and conscious during the process, in a calm and serene frame of mind, although sometimes people do fall asleep! Shortly after a guided relaxation it is not unusual to be more alert and finish tasks much more quickly and efficiently !

The ‘Serenity and Harmony’ CD contains 3 short guided relaxations each lasting about 10 minutes and one longer relaxation of about 30 minutes The short sessions are typically used at the end of a yoga class or practice, but can equally be used without having done a class or yoga practice to relax and calm the mind.
